Osoyoos Wine Country!
22 - 24th March 2015
This was a quick trip to see if everything would work after the winter storage season. Everything seemed to be working fine after de-winiterizing.
Of course Jan drove the Unity as my back is still in distress,
she handled the task just great!

Jan driving the Unity! Of course with a Tim Horton's Coffee. |
This trip we had to take along a wheel chair so I could have some mobility.
|
Surprisingly the Unity Murphy Bed fits a wheel chair perfectly behind the Driver's Seat! |
We also had installed a low volt heated mattress pad from SoftHeat; queen size with dual controls and must say it works great! It installs easily onto the Unity Murphy Bed mattress. You will need an extension cord to plug in both control units and then we plug into the inverter wall plug behind the driver's seat.
|
The Queen mattress pad uses 16V/61W per side. |
Osoyoos is a great location situated along the Canada - USA Border in British Columbia; a snowbird location with a lot of wineries to tour. Check out the link..

We stayed at Walton's RV Park which is very nicely appointed and located right across from the lake.

The lake is across the road. |
We toured 5 wineries on our first afternoon in Osoyoos. One of them was the NK'MIP Cellars which also has a nice RV Resort Campground.
|
They have very nice First Nations art work throughout the winery/resort! |

The drive up Anarchist Mountain is a must when visiting Osoyoos! Spectacular views and interestingly while driving up the mountain!
Along the drive you will notice a number of private homes which are set up for star gazing! These Observatory homes are amazing and you can even stay at the Observatory B & B

View from Highway 3 at the top of Anarchist Summit. Great view of Osoyoos! |
Anarchist Mountain
At the top of Anarchist Mountain as you had east on Highway 3 there is a huge residential subdivision; where the lots have been cleared and the roads are all in. The 2008 economy must have taken it's toll as there are very, very few homes built.
The development is amazing and each area is named after some animal, bird or Sasquatch! Each entrance to has a large bronze cast bronze statue - simply amazing!
|
Eagle SubDivision! |
Our friends Dave & Sue sent us these photos of Sasquatch Subdivision from Easter Weekend.....
|
You can guess what the statue would look like! |
|
Except when we saw him he was not dressed for Easter! |

If you find yourself driving in the area you will not be disappointed
if you stop and explore Osoyoos for a day or two!
Nice 'shake down' trip Craig & Jan... Have fun on your trip east. Looking forward to your postings!
