Headed Home - Day Four
June 6th
Dryden, ON to Winkler, MB
7.5hrs and 683kms
Back to Winkler! |
Since we purchased our LTV Unity we have been suspicious of the water pump! A lot of rattling and the pump keeps cycling long after it should. At other times it works better, so we were not sure if there was a problem.
We called LTV and spoke with Steve at Service; he said "that does not sound right, bring it in and we will swap it out for you". So we booked a 07:30 am appointment and headed to Winkler.
Since leaving Welland, ON we have had nice weather then the clouds started moving in.
After leaving Dryden we came across a convoy of Canadian Military Transports |
Then of course the rain started. All Pete's hard work detailing the Unity now in jeopardy! |
Lund Boats Great Aluminum Fishing Boats Steinbach, MB Notice the nice blue skies! |
When we drove into Steinbach we were planning on passing through and heading to Winkler. As we looked to the west we saw heavy dark clouds so decided to spend some time in Steinbach hoping that the weather would pass.
Driving through Steinbach, we saw a sign for the 2015 Lions Car Show Away we went to the Mennonite Heritage Centre |
$20.00 admission fee, it had been raining so the ground was soft Parking was in the fields at the Mennonite Heritage Centre |
Windmill at the Centre |
Some very nice custom cars were out for display |
Jan had a 2003 Mercedes C230 Kompressor Coupe I think she likes this one a little better! Mercedes Benz GLA45 AMG |
Craig's back did not do well with walking the car show and we had to depart sooner than we had planned. Although it turned out to be a good thing as there was a storm coming in from the West.
Clouds moving in |
Leaving Steinbach for Winkler! Not sure if this was a wise decision. |
Shortly after the lightning, thunder, hail and rain started. |
This was when thing settled down and the hail was finished!
Once we made it to Winkler, we stopped at the local A & W Restaurant! This was handy to LTV Facilities and honestly we had the best Uncle and Teen Burger along with sides of french fries and onion rings! Of course we ordered two mugs of ice cold frosty root beer to wash it all down.
Winkler A & W Best Burgers Ever! |
We arrived to no rain in Winkler at the LTV Service Building |
We stayed once again at the courtesy overnight parking Complete with power and water A Serenity, Unity MB and a Class A Empress were our parking mates for the night! |
Our stay here was a little warmer than the April visit on the way east!
