The March West!

Headed Home

June 4th
Welland On to Serpent River ON
8 hours and 480kms

First Day Headed Home

From our Halifax Family Gathering, we flew into Toronto for only a few hours before heading down to Welland, ON to pick up our motorhome which has been stored on Cindy & Pete's driveway since the third week of April.

Our son Andrew gave us a ride from Toronto to Hamilton, where we had a quick visit with Cousin's Cindy & Pete and Cathy & Rob.  We then caught a ride with them to Welland where we stayed the night before heading out the next morning.

An impressively detailed Leisure Travel Van was awaiting us!  Pete, who is an outstanding vehicle detailer, had done an extensive job washing and polishing up LTV Kozad from bottom of tires to top of the motorhome!

Cleaned and Shiny LTV Kozad!

We once again packed up the motorhome and headed out for our drive home.  We had 7 days to get home as Craig had an appointment with the neurosurgeon
which we could not miss.

It sure felt good to get back in to the Unity.  What a nice comfortable and easy driving vehicle, you would never know that you are moving down the highway with your house behind you!

Jan driving again!  Craig navigating!

WaWa, ON
The Goose Town!

We stopped for lunch in WaWa ON
Craig wanted a feed of Walleye Fish!
Not a very good meal unfortunately.

Interestingly the firewood they use in this area at the provincial park sites s birch!  Se came across a load of firewood on our drive up towards Thunder Bay

Large Semi Load of Birch Firewood.

Our first night's stop was at the Serpent River Campground.  A nice park approx. 135 kms west of Sudbury, ON.  We asked for a nice site along the river but were told that the black flies and mosquitos were so bad it would be recommended to be farther away!  So we set up in a nice site, but were overcome with mosquitos and black flies.  Hence no photos of the campsite where we set up!

Serpent River Campground!
Handy location for a nights rest

It was nice to get back on the road again!  The only negative was both of us had terrible colds... but it was not enough to dissuade us!
